Position Title: Sourcing Manager
Report to: IPO Manager(Based in Taiwan) Location: Shanghai
POSITION SUMMARY
 
The Strategic Sourcing Manager is responsible to establish procurement direction including technology integration and supplier innovation to the supply chain that results in lower total cost.  This position will facilitate early supplier involvement and co-development in new product introduction; proactively seek new technologies and offer these technologies as solutions where appropriate; and participate to qualify and develop suppliers in accordance with the global sourcing strategy.
 
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
 
·Independently performs most assignments with instructions as to the general results expected.
·Collaborates with Strategic Sourcing Managers and Strategic Procurement Managers.
 
Primary Interfaces with the following organizations:
·Global Design Engineering Groups
·Global Security Division
·Supply Chain, all domestic and international locations
·Service facilities, including distribution centers, repair facilities, and major division branches.
·All organizations requiring procurement and supplier support including Finance, Human Resources, IT, Direct Marketing, Facilities, and other organizations as required.
 
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY
 
Consult in design, sourcing, and cost reduction aspects of assigned activities with the organizations listed above.  Represent Procurement on technical matters involving other organizations. This position is 80%+ focused on strategic objectives and activities.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
(DESCRIBE THE ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES, BE SPECIFIC AND CONCISE). AUTHORITY LEVEL
 
-  Manage sourcing activity coordination and processes for sourcing duties relating to new product development including supplier selection, capability assessment and quality improvement.  Typically assigned to technically complex projects.
- Participate in the development and maintenance of supplier certification, supplier development and supplier evaluation programs.
- Research potential sources of supply for purchased products to ensure prices are globally competitive and sufficient production capacity is available within the supply chain.
- Research potential new technology.
- Acts as a liaison between suppliers and the Company engineering community.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve supplier productivity and quality, and ensure supply chain continuity.
- Evaluate feasibility and facilitate in the implementation of Supplier developed content in Company product offerings.
-  Assist implementation and communicating of global sourcing strategies. 
-  Facilitate and lead Value Analysis and Value Engineering (VA/VE) processes.
-  Facilitate and lead root cause problem investigation and resolution through design prevention.
 
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
 
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- MBA or advanced technical degree is a plus
- Minimum five years professional experience in procurement, engineering, supply chain or quality management
- Knowledge of component design for Injection Molding, Sheet Metal and Machined metal components.
- Knowledge of Brushless DC and Stepper Motor design, specification, testing, and quality control plan development.
-Knowledge of printer, fan, and solenoid design, specification, fabrication, testing, and quality control plan development.
- Knowledge of Circuit Card design, component specification, fabrication, testing, and quality control plan development.
- Experience with process trouble shooting and root cause and Failure Modes Effects Analysis (FMEA).
- Experience with Design for Six Sigma/Design of experiments (DOE) and development of test fixtures for life cycle testing, material evaluation, and product enhancement testing.
- Proven track record of meeting and exceeding assigned goals and objectives
- Ability to perform in a team environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficient in the use of personal computers with the ability to use Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel
- With Mechanical Engineering degree, 3 years knowledge of and experience with 3D mechanical computer aided design tools such as Pro/Engineer
- With Electrical Engineering degree, 3 years knowledge of and experience with electrical computer aided design tools such as Mentor Graphics
- Knowledge of and application of ASMEY14.5-1994 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing standards.
- Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma process, problem solving and application.
- Project Management Certification (PMP) or project management training preferred
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
- Work attitude that exhibits drive, assertiveness, judgment, decision making, dependability and ambitions
